비공개에 가까운 리스트, 시민 안전과 어떻게 균형 맞추나
문제는 이 목록이 일반 시민에게 전면 공개되지 않았다는 점입니다. 온라인 커뮤니티에선 “아무리 부동산 가격이나 도시 이미지가 중요해도 시민의 생명보다 우선일 수 없다”는 목소리가 이어지고 있습니다. 특히, 이번에 싱크홀 사고가 난 명일동이 빠져 있다는 점이 리스트의 신뢰성에도 의문을 제기하게 합니다.

‘Possibility of collapse’ all over the place…Spotting Dangerous Areas in Seoul
Some of the list of danger zones for ground subsidence (sinkhole) released by the Seoul Metropolitan Government has spread online, raising concerns among citizens. The list, which was released after the Myeongil-dong accident, spans a number of autonomous districts, including Gangnam-gu, Guro-gu, Gwangjin-gu, Geumcheon-gu, Nowon-gu, Mapo-gu, Seongdong-gu, and Jongno-gu, and includes a number of major roads and residential areas in Seoul, including Eonju-ro, Seonneung-ro, Gasan-dong, and Insa-dong.
The following sections are included in the major risk areas.
Gangnam-gu: Eonju-ro, Seolneung-ro
Guro-gu: 76th Gocheok-dong area
Gwangjin-gu: At least 20 places, including Gu 1-3, Jayang-dong, Hwayang-dong, Junggok-dong, etc
Geumcheon-gu: Gasan-dong, Siheung-dong area
Mapo-gu: Daeheung-dong, Yeonnam-dong
Seongdong-gu: Doseon-dong, Haengdang-dong, Seongsu-dong
Jongno-gu: Insa-dong, Jongno 2-ga, Jae-dong, Sogyeok-dong, Hyoja-dong, etc
Many of the sections are located near subway stations, traditional markets, public parking lots, or residential areas, raising concerns that there is a high possibility of damage caused by ground collapse.
Close to private list, how to balance civil safety
The problem is that the list has not been fully opened to the public. There are voices in the online community that “no matter how important real estate prices or city images are, they cannot take precedence over citizens’ lives.” In particular, the fact that Myeong-Il-dong, who had a sinkhole accident this time, is missing raises questions about the reliability of the list.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said it is continuously conducting a “risk analysis” through an underground safety impact assessment and is conducting reinforcement work and inspections if necessary, but it is difficult to avoid criticism that it does not properly share the risk section with citizens.
